In spite of the fact that the Taxi 2000 corporation is suing it's founder and former CEO in Hennepin District Court, the PRT publicity mill grinds on. Two recent PRT puff pieces in the media stated that PRT was going somewhere in Minnesota. The truth is PRT is going nowhere in Minnesota. A bill giving tax exemption for a PRT project didn't survive the special session of the legislature.
At least seven issues that passed both the House and Senate with almost identical language failed to make the final tax bill, said Rep. Mark Olson, R-Big Lake.
One of them — a sales tax exemption for local governments that invest in Personal Rapid Transit infrastructure worth $200,000 — was a bill Olson championed.
"I'm frustrated that the intent of the Legislature is being subverted by a handful of leaders, and we're expected to just go along with it," he said. One recent TV news report said that the city council of Rochester, Minnesota was taking a look at a PRT proposal. I've been assured by one Rochester City Council member that PRT is a very low priority for the council.

A person with the pseudonym "PRT_Mafia" has left some very nasty anti-muslim and anti-transit comments on the last post. http://www.tblog.com/template...
Sadly, some PRTers have accused me of being the author or knowing the author of those comments.
For the record, I am not PRT_Mafia, I do not know who PRT_Mafia is and I do not share PRT_Mafia's anti-muslim opinions.
If it is the case that some anti-PRT person is posing as PRT_Mafia to discredit PRT, I ask that person to stop at once. There is plenty of evidence on the web to show how nasty PRTers are without inventing new stuff.
For example, a PRTer named Ryan Kennedy posted this message on the Seattle PRT Yahoo List http://groups.yahoo.com/group...
"In a just world, Rotkin would be tied to an iceberg and penguins
would peak(sic) at his genitals hours at a time."
The same Ryan Kennedy posted the following comment on another PRT Yahoo site (now closed to non-members):
"... heh... I like "bullets". As Ed Anderson said, it's a disruptive
technology. It's going to upset a lot of apple carts. Bullets are

What do you expect of folks who ally themselves with extreme right-wingers like Michele Bachmann.

Green Party-endorsed candidate for Mayor of Minneapolis, Farheen Hakeem told me she had suspicions about Personal Rapid Transit. She also said she was not supporting Dean Zimmermann.

The purpose of PRT is to spread anti-transit disinformation on behalf of the highway industry.

From another document from the Taxi 2000 vs J. Edward Anderson Trial:
"As we have discussed in the past, SEH has invested about $400,000 in Taxi 2000 over the past several years without compensation other than 12,000 shares of stock..."
"Accordingly, I intend to notify Taxi 2000 Corp. that all of the images used in their promotional literature, web site, etc. are copyrighted materials, owned solely by SEH."
So the brochures and the PowerPoint presentation Zimmermann has been giving to community groups over the last few years were mostly prepared by SEH who are the engineers for The Access Project and the Lake Street Reconstruction Project

| "Personal Rapid Transit": Green Party Backing Away? |

The Green Party of Minnesota has always had the welcome mat out for supporters of PRT. There are recent indications that a growing number of Minnesota Green Party members are backing away from PRT.
Part of the reason seems to be the success and popularity of the Hiawatha Light Rail and the plans for a new LRT line between the Twin Cities.
Mayoral candidate Elizabeth Dickinson has removed a reference to PRT from her web site and her campaign has assured me that Dickinson is a supporter of LRT and will work with Transit for LIvable Communites on transit policy http://www.roadkillbill.com/P...
Too late for Minneapolis Councilman Dean Zimmermann who may have lost his bid for a Sierra Club endorsement because of his anti-transit, pro-PRT campaign over the last few years. He should have listened to fellow Green Party office-holder Annie Young:
“This is not a Green Party issue; this is Dean’s project. I’m concerned about his relationship to Taxi 2000, and about the time he’s spending on the project and whether he’s meeting the needs of the people in his ward. There are potentially some good things that could come from it, and I see what the point is but I’m not sure the timing is right. There are also a lot of questions about it, like why are the Republicans so interested in it? There are a lot of good alternatives that we should be working on, and there are so many transportation needs to be addressed.
